Foundational Stage

Nursery to Grade II · Joyful, play-based learning.

The Foundational Stage at Helios International School lays the groundwork for lifelong learning. Following NEP 2020 guidelines for ages 3 to 8, the focus is on joyful, play-based and discovery-oriented learning. Classrooms are vibrant spaces where storytelling, music, movement and hands-on sensory experiences engage every learner.

Teachers emphasise foundational literacy and numeracy through experiential activities and theme-based lessons. Emotional, social and motor skill development are equally prioritised, creating confident and happy learners. Technology is integrated in age-appropriate ways to spark curiosity.

The nurturing environment encourages self-expression, imagination and early problem-solving. Assessment at this stage is observation-based, focusing on growth and participation rather than rote performance.
